Sanmar has launched a new tugboat—Boğaçay LXXIX—for Ultratug Mexico at Lázaro Cárdenas Port, offering high maneuverability and eco-friendly performance.
Sanmar has introduced the Boğaçay LXXIX, a high-performance tugboat engineered for Ultratug Mexico. The vessel, built under the RAmparts 2400SX-MKII design by Robert Allan Ltd., is tailored for operations at Lázaro Cárdenas Port on Mexico’s Pacific Coast. Equipped with dual IMO Tier III CAT 3516E engines delivering 2,200 kW each, it produces a remarkable 75-ton astern bollard pull and 12.5 knots free-running speed. The tug features low-emission SCR exhaust technology, compact stability, and comfortable accommodation for up to eight crew, reflecting a commitment to efficiency and sustainability in port handling operations
