CMA CGM Orders Six LNG-Powered Container Ships from India

CMA CGM — a leading global shipping company — has commissioned six LNG-powered container ships from Cochin Shipyard, India. This is the first time an international liner has ordered LNG dual-fuel container vessels built in India, marking a milestone in both CMA CGM’s green agenda and the Indian shipbuilding industry. 

Dutch Expand Emission-Free Inland Shipping with Swappable Battery Packs

Background & Innovation

  • Zero Emission Services (ZES), in collaboration with Nefcargo and Inland Terminals Group, has introduced the ZES 2.0 service for battery-electric inland cargo shipping.
  • New swappable battery containers (called Zespacks) will operate from terminals in Alphen aan den Rijn, Alblasserdam, and Den Bosch, with plans to expand to Rotterdam, Moerdijk, and Nijmegen.
